My husband bought a lotto ticket yesterday. I guess about 90% of the population also did the same. If you’re wondering why then it’s because the jackpot has already reached more than 300 million. I don’t buy lotto tickets but that doesn’t mean that I don’t dream of winning the jackpot. So allow me to dream. What will I do if we win the 300 million jackpot?
Well, first of all we would consult a financial planner. I know for a fact that most jackpot winners lose their winnings a couple of years later due to mismanagement. I don’t want to waste my once in a lifetime chance only to lose it all in the end. If we win, I’ll make sure that we won’t worry about money for the rest of our lives. That is why for sure we won’t be announcing that we won to our relatives. It would surely be one big headache if we do that.
So granted that we have already kept a portion of it safe and made sure it would generate income for the rest of our lives, we are of course going to splurge on a few things. We would like to have a house in the metro. No, I wouldn’t want a mansion, just a four-bedroom house with a yard will do. We would have two cars – one for hubby and one for me. No drivers, I will have to learn how to drive again. I would hire a cook and a maid. The cook is a luxury for me as I don’t know how to cook. We won’t enroll our kids in the most expensive school for sure but one that has a good reputation and reasonable tuition fees. We would be going on a vacation once a year abroad and maybe three times a year around the country. We have to continue working, of course, to keep our sanity. I hope we’ll have a family business that my husband and I can co-manage. As far as gifts, we would be giving 10% of our winnings to our church as it is our obligation to do so.
