Sports for Our Eldest Son

January 31st, 2012 | Posted by admin in My Stuff - (0 Comments)

Hubby and I have been looking for sports for our eldest boy. He has already turned 7 and we figured a hobby would do him good. We inquired the local taekwondo clinic to see if they would accept him. Unfortunately, we got a negative response because he is still underage. Now I’m racking my brain on where else to enroll him. We live in a city and an equestrian lesson would be out of question. I know he’ll surely love horses and wearing those equestrian boots but this is not feasible in our area. A swimming lesson too would be nice but my little boy is hesitant. In the end, my hubby just taught him guitar and a little karate. This activity allowed father and son to bond so it worked out great in the end.

Flying on a Budget with Cebu Pacific

Riding a plane is an extraordinary experience in itself. That’s why on my son’s 7th birthday we wanted to give him this wonderful experience. Thank God there is a budget airplane that allowed our family of four to afford the luxury of traveling in the air. I was able to grab tickets for us when Cebu Pacific had one of their sales.

Hubby rode a different airplane from another airline before and he commented that the planes of Philippine Airlines are more luxurious compared with Cebu Pacific. He said the plane he rode on even have a sort of real time gps tracking onboard. I would have loved to see that but if I don’t it’s okay. What matters is our dream of traveling was realized because of budget airlines like Cebu Pacific.

Planning for Emergencies on Your Trip

January 25th, 2012 | Posted by admin in My Stuff - (0 Comments)

One of the things you have to take care of before going on a vacation is planning for emergencies. I think that is one of the hardest to do. You will never know what kind of emergency you will expect in a foreign place especially if you haven’t been there before. When I planned for our trip my concern was with our budget. It was our first time to travel as a whole family and it didn’t help that we would be staying for 8 days. So in preparation, I researched a lot by reading blogs of people who have gone to Bohol too. From there I have gathered a list of expenses that we would encounter like the tour packages, accommodations, entrance fees to tourist spots and the like. Then we were able to come up with a budget that was both affordable to us and would ensure that we will also get the most of our vacation. Our preparation helped us a lot in staying within our budget and not incurring unnecessary expenses.

If you are traveling not on a plane like us but on the road in an RV then you must also take into account the fact that your vehicle might encounter some mishap and break down. That’s why you should have an rv travel emergency plan as a back up just in case.
