Here are the steps on how to open a PayPal account using Unionbank EON…
1. DO NOT open a PayPal account until you have applied for Unionbank EON.
2. Go to the Unionbrank branch nearest you. Bring at least 2 valid IDs (preferably SSS, GSIS, Passport or Driver’s License, Postal ID, company ID or NBI Clearance).
3. Fill up the form that will be given to you by the New Accounts teller. Make sure that the email address that you use in your EON account is the same as the one you’ll be using for your Paypal.
4. Although the EON account has no minimum maintaining balance, be sure that you make an initial deposit of P500 in your account. This money will be later used by PayPal in verifying your account.
5. Wait for your EON ATM card. Processing usually takes 1-2 weeks depending upon the branch.
6. Once you have your EON card, register for online access at the Unionbank website. The verification code will be for your PayPal account will be reflected in your Unionbank account page.
7. You can now register or sign up for a PayPal Account. A Personal PayPal account is already sufficient for transacting business.
8. Fill in the necessary information (name, contact address, contact number, email address). You will also be asked for your EON Bank account number. This is the number listed at the bottom of your name. Once you have submitted the form, you will be sent a confirmation notice through your email address. Simply click the link in the verification email and then enter your PayPal password to re-enter the PayPal site.
9. Click the “Get Verified” link. PayPal will automatically withdraw $1.50 from your Unionbank account.
10. After 3-4 days, enter your Unionbank EON account page. Look at your Account Overview. You will find the 4 digits with which to complete the link between your EON and PayPal accounts.
11. Once you have these 4 numbers, go back to your PayPal page, enter the 4 digits to confirm your EON account.
